sidewalk railing in the sun

After several days of rain and overcast the sun made a glorious return to Seattle Thursday. I shot this with this cool little lens called a Lensbaby. Dumb name, but amazing to shoot with. It's hard to describe, but the barrel of the lens is a rubber bellows, like those large format view camera you see with the cloth over the head of the photographer. You push and pull the lens like an accordion to focus, but it only focuses on a small area of the frame. You control what's in focus and what's out of focus. You can also bend the lens up and down and left to right to create these distorted motion blur-like effects.
